In a first, the Outback Queensland Masters is offering a money-can’t-buy experience for two lucky people from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand in the remote town of Quilpie, Outback Queensland.
This potentially life-changing experience includes the chance to tee off for a Million Dollar Hole-In-One on the red Outback Queensland dirt this July.
The Golden Ticket is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity including return flights from Auckland or any Australian capital to the town of Quilpie, accommodation, outback under the stars dining experiences, and the opportunity to play in the three-day Outback Queensland Masters finale, including the Million Dollar Hole-In-One Challenge held at Quilpie Golf Club.
For amateur Aussie and Kiwi golfers, this is the ultimate outback golfing experience not to be missed. The Golden Ticket winners are given special exemption within the Outback Queensland Masters rules, making them eligible to participate in the Million Dollar Hole-in-One Challenge without the requirement to play in the qualifying rounds at two of the prior locations within Outback Queensland.
In 2023 two social New Zealand golfers won their way to the Million-Dollar finale. While they didn’t score the million dollar prize to take home, they experienced a weekend of outback Australian golf on the iconic red dirt, true-blue outback hospitality and entertainment under the stars of the Milky Way.
The 2024 Outback Queensland Masters is Australia’s most remote golfing series, stretching over 1,600 kilometres. The event is staged across six locations in Queensland’s Outback starting off in Birdsville this June before travelling to the towns of Boulia, Winton, Barcaldine, Charleville and finishing in Quilpie.
Luke Bates, Golf Australia QLD & NT Manager said the sand greens are a challenge of a different kind for players; most not having experienced them before entering the series.
“We’re really hoping one skilled amateur strikes it rich this July with the Million Dollar Hole-In-One remaining unclaimed in the event’s 5-year history.
“The chance of hitting a hole-in-one is 12,000 to 1 but that didn’t stop amateur player David Pennell from Canberra hitting his first ever hole-in-one on Quilpie’s red dirt, driving home with a $10,000 prize at the 2021 event.
“This competition isn’t all about winning though, it’s all about having fun on and off the golf course. It’s about the outback experience, discovering new places and meeting new people, and we can’t wait to share that with those joining the competition in 2024,” said Mr Bates.
The Golden Ticket Prize includes:
- 3 days of competition at Quilpie Golf Club including the Million-Dollar Hole-In-One Challenge
- Return flights to Quilpie from any Australian capital city or Auckland, New Zealand.
- 4 nights accommodation
- Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Under the outback Stars experiences with live entertainment!
The official tee off for Outback Queensland Masters 2024 will occur at the Birdsville Dunes Golf Club to be staged on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June.
