Held in six locations over six weekends in June and July, the one-of-a-kind golf tournament is the perfect way to experience the best of Queensland’s Outback with a golf club in hand.
You could win One Million Dollars
You heard correctly… ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
So how do you win?
- Qualify to play the final by playing at 2 of the lead in courses as part of the OQM.
- Hit a hole-in-one on the selected hole at the Longreach final
We will also have a $10,000 hole-in-one at each of the lead in courses (Biloela, Charleville, Quilpie, Blackall and Hughenden), to give you plenty of practice. This is a new prize added for the 2021 event.
Heads up: Make sure you bring a suitcase large enough to bring home all the prize money.
Adventure of a lifetime
Planned so keen road-trippers can journey from town to town, experiencing the best of the Outback Queensland while having a swing on 6 unique outback courses.
You will be playing golf on the weekends, so that leaves plenty of time during the week between each event to experience just what makes Outback Queensland so special.
Stopping in at Biloela, Charleville, Quilpie, Blackall, Hughenden and Longreach. Each town is home to a variety of unique experiences, from the Cosmos Centre in Charleville to dino-digging in Hughenden and the Qantas Founders Museum in Longreach.
We’ve done all the hard work for you and planned 3 legendary Outback Queensland Masters road-trip itineraries, all you need to do is choose which one to follow.
It’s not for the pros
The Outback Queensland Masters is exclusively for amateur golfers.
So from happy hitters to club champs, beginners to weekend legends, the Outback Queensland Masters is open to you!
Sand greens
That’s right, the greens in Outback Queensland aren’t so green. In fact, at some of the golf clubs, you will actually play on sand greens, where the green is comprised of oiled sand rather than grass. This is usually due to the prohibitive cost of maintaining grass green in rural areas.
Interesting to note: a player is able to smooth the putting surface on the sand green with the provided smoother prior to putting. Certain conditions also apply to the smoothing process and how to mark the ball on the green.
Let’s face it…are you really a golfer if you haven’t played on a sand green?
Dinner under the Outback’s 5 billion star hotel
This isn’t your average golf tournament, the fun doesn’t stop when you sink the ball on the 18th, that’s actually when it begins.
At the end of play on Saturday get ready for a night of entertainment and the most amazing dinner under the blanket of the starry night sky.
Bonus: This is all included in your player or spectator pass – so you don’t need to pay any extra.
Play 1 weekend or all 6
